The FBW & Secondary Flight Control Engineering team, and the business, requires a rigorous and disciplined Section Chief who has product, process, and practical application experience to ensure sustaining program or preparing for the challenges and demands of the future (Ecojet).
What are your contributions to the team?
Lead a section of the FBW & Secondary Flight Control Team to distribute the work and drive to expected results. Participate directly in the design supported by the team and provide expert support to other Business units. Participate in manpower planning activities, in budget preparation and will be accountable for managing financial resources. Perform employees’ PMP and make salary recommendations. Participates in the recruitment and integration of new employees. Participate in employees’ development and coaching. Develop good working relationship with various departments within Bombardier and with all suppliers. Create / enable a positive and collaboratives team environment and take concrete steps / actions to keep high level of engagement within the team. Analyze complex problems, organize investigations. Make decisions and recommendations on complex technical issues autonomously and sets priorities on mid to long term range. Propose solution to unusual problems and approve modifications to designs where concepts have been approved at higher level. Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as other Bombardier sites.How to thrive in this role?
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in, Aerospace Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in aerospace related field. An MBA will be an asset. You have been directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one Flight-By-Wire system. You possess an excellent understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a good knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g. electrical, hydraulic, avionics, auto-flight, ). You have good knowledge of Part 25 certification process. You have experience in DAL A software development following guidance from ARP4754, DO178, and hardware software interaction for FBW controllers (or similar complex system) Management experience with direct reports will be an asset. You have good knowledge of MS OfficeSoft skills:
You have excellent oral presentation and technical writing skills in English are required (French is an asset). You demonstrate Bombardier leadership competencies which are: building effective team, providing Direction, driving for success, engendering confidence & trust, and leading change. You must also show initiative, innovation, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, have good interpersonal communication skills, have a good engineering judgement.Please note: You don’t need all the skills, knowledge, and experience listed for this position We’re not looking for the perfect candidate, we’re looking for great talent and resourcefulness.
