JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for supporting financial consolidation and reporting for our Canada legal entity, including a large manufacturing facility and two service centers supporting Clyde Union pumps globally. In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, this role will provide financial data analytics on key topics such as revenue, margin, price, cost, and strategic initiatives to assist in developing business strategies. This position will report to the Site Controller.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including monthly product costing, inventory management, journal entries and financial reporting and analytics
• Support financial project controlling preparation for monthly project reviews
• Collect and compile cost data from various sources, including invoices, purchase orders, and production reports.
• Analyze cost information to determine the cost of goods sold (COGS), overhead costs, and other expenses related to production and operations.
• Assist Site Controller with cost reports, budget forecasts, financial statements and monitoring of various analytics (e.g., Revenue, Standard Margin, Other Cost of Sales, SG&A, Absorption, Purchase Price Variances, etc.)
• Support the completion of Annual Operating Plan
• Improve reporting processes to enhance month end closing and financial reporting
• Assist Finance with special projects as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information accurately
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to analyze financial statements
• Ability to process large volumes of data to create valuable information for decision making purposes
• Energetic individual with a clear sense of urgency
• Ability to work well under deadlines and to deliver results on time
• Self-starting with good organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented matrix environment that is fast-paced and demanding
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other relevant software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting required
• Working towards CPA preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of financial accounting experience
• Familiarity with financial reporting systems
• Experience with ERP software (AS400, SAP, Hyperion) is an asset
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
