Job Description:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
- Will be manufacturing custom parts using a manual lathe as well as other 'rotating equipment'
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
- Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers), Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional machine tools including.
- Must be cross trained in various roles, various tasks assigned at all times
MUST HAVE Requirements:
- Some experience on a Manual Lathes
- Able to read measuring instruments - ie. Verniers, Outside Micrometers, scales, bore gages, inside micrometers
- Able to read and understand prints
Experience, Education and Skill Requirements
- Requires a collage diploma in mechanical engineering or a related subject.
- Must have at least 2-3 years of manufacturing related working experience in a machine shop
- Must have excellent understanding of English both written and oral communication.
- Must be competent in the use of computer software.
- Any experience working with machinery
This position requires the machinist to be able to operate various machines and move flawlessly into various departments. Cross training will be provided. Must keep all work areas in a tidy manner.
