The Opportunity

Our Heartland Liquids Field Operations Team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in our Fort McMurray Maintenance Office to support the growing needs of our business.

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician who is a self-motivating team player. In this role the successful candidate will apply skills and aptitude to repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform planned maintenance and corrective tasks on natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators, air compressors, pumps, valves, boilers, pipelines, filters, scrubbers, etc.They will also be responsible for operating and maintaining assigned equipment in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do

Function as the lead on local projects and outages Perform installation, commissioning/decommissioning, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and mechanical maintenance on compressor station equipment, pipeline facilities, metering and regulating equipment, and other facilities related to the pipeline system Schedule, coordinate, and inspect the work of third-party contractors Maintain records for required regulatory and company procedures Perform high-complexity preventative maintenance and corrective tasks (e.g.vibration tests) Operate specialized mechanical equipment such as lathes, presses, etc. Perform quality assurance on manufactured components Identify when modifications, upgrades, and adjustments to maintenance cycles are required Complete reports based on trend data analysis

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of third year of trades program, or, two years of technical training from a recognized institution (i.e., Millwright, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Machinist) 2 years’ experience of relevant work experience related to Pipelines Proven Mechanical knowledge, skills and experience

Preferred Qualifications

Journeyman certification in a related field (i.e., Millwright, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Machinist) 2 years of technical training from a recognized institution may be considered 5 years of proven experience troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing, and operating mechanical equipment of transmission facilities (such as compressors, auxiliary engines, cooling equipment, valves, pumps, fittings, scrubbers, filters, electric motors, etc.) Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review  Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing  Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training will be required (estimated up 50% of work schedule)  Participate in an on-call schedule  Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures 

Relocation Eligibility : This position is a Fly-in-Fly-out, 14 day rotation
