About the Opportunity

South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH), in Bridgewater, is seeking a full-time general surgeon to join their team of general surgeons with a 1:4 call rotation. The role requires a full spectrum of general surgical services appropriate to a secondary care center. An interest in breast surgery would be considered an asset. C ompensation is currently Fee for Service, with an estimated income range of $, to $, annually. Your annual income will depend solely on your own clinical output. In addition, specialist receive on-call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia.

SSRH has 85 inpatient beds and was originally founded in , SSRH is a primary and secondary care hospital and designated district trauma centre.

Responsibilities
  • full scope of practice as a surgeon providing care to the patients within the Western Zone
  • participating in call and able to respond to urgent matters within 20 minutes of being called
Expected Hours
  • Permeant full-time
  • On call requirement; 1:4
Qualifications
  • Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
