Emissions Technician

OVERVIEW
Vertex is currently accepting applications for an Emissions Technician within our Emissions Management team in Alberta. Reporting to the Field Operations Lead - Emissions Management, the Emissions Technician will provide field and office support for Vertex’s emissions team completing on-site testing. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, enjoys working outside in varying environments, with the ability to work extended days away from home.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Preference towards post-secondary diploma or higher in Engineering Strong written and oral communications skills Professional conduct, strong interpersonal skills and bring positive energy to the role Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations is considered an asset Ability to interpret technical data as it relates to regulatory compliance Flexible and able to work under pressure to include tight deadlines and multiple projects Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work in the office and field for extended periods of time, as required Willingness to travel within Western Canada, as requiredRESPONSIBILITIES
Provide field and office support for Vertex’s growing Emissions Management Team Complete on-site surface casing vent flow assessments and subsequent testing Complete on-site gas migration testing, verifying absence of methane Responsible for field client communication of project deliverables Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern Provides field reports daily and communicates clearly with site-specific personnel and project managers Communicate with plant personnel as directed. Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety equipment Perform appropriate documentation and administrative procedures as required Communicate and collaborates with field personnel, client representatives and management Maintain awareness of products and services available to customers Perform all duties as assigned and adheres to Vertex’s Core Values Other duties as directed by your direct supervisor or managerLOCATION
