Cascadia Metals is accepting resumes for a full-time Purchasing Assistant to join our growing team. This is a permanent full-time position and is located at our Delta branch.


Responsibilities:

  • Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers and prepare purchase orders
  • Compare quotes for items and submit for review or authorization
  • Fulfill purchasing demands, and communicate with suppliers
  • Calculate the cost of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts
  • Process purchases within purchasing authority
  • Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve shortages, and expedite orders.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication with internal resources
  • Assist with coverage for the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator when needed
  • Other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education and work experience relevant to purchasing or administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project
  • Aptitude for learning new software applications with ease
  • Meticulously accurate with data entry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Time management skills in relation to day-to-day duties
  • Proactive problem-solver with the confidence to present solutions
