Cowan Insurance Group is looking for a highly motivated Business Auditor to join our team This role is reporting to the Director, Commercial Insurance, the Business Auditor for Commercial Insurance will work closely with the Senior Business Auditor, Trainers, and Leaders in the planning, execution and reporting of internal audit projects including conducting files reviews designed to maintain or improve standards, reduce the risk of errors & omissions exposure and create efficiencies.

What you will do: 

Assessing and understanding business risks related to client filesConducting Commercial Insurance operational and quality file reviews to assess compliance with workflows and processesProvide formalized feedback and recommendations on audit results and training needsAssess the quality of the supporting documentation within the brokerage filesResearch and provide recommendations on workflow improvementsReview insurer audit findings and compliance requirementsCollaborate with Senior Auditor, trainers and leaders to support implementation of key initiatives as a result of auditsAssist with the execution of initiatives to increase operational efficiency

What you will bring:

Minimum 5 years Commercial Insurance experienceRIBO license or ability to obtainCAIB or CIP designation an asset3 years or more of internal/external audit experience or equivalent preferably in a property and casualty insurance settingStrong analytical skillsThrives in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently, and balance multiple priorities and project deadlinesA well-defined sense of diplomacy, strong communication skills – both written and verbalAbility to summarize audit results in clear, concise, understandable languageComputer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and Outlook requiredExperience using EPIC broker management system an asset
