Red Deer, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager and Clinical Supervisor the Mental Health Therapist requires demonstrated competencies in Community Addiction and Mental Health as it relates to individuals who have come into conflict with the law. It requires collaborative work and a strong knowledge of Justice Services, Community Addiction and Mental Health and effective linking to other community-based services for both mandated and voluntary clients, and includes responsibilities specific to screening, completing comprehensive addiction and mental health assessments, risk assessments, treatment, referral, writing reports and intensive case management. Treatment knowledge and skill set must encompass both addictions and mental health and the ability to exercise a variety of clinical modalities such as CBT, ACT, trauma informed, motivational interviewing, narrative, and solution-focused therapy. Providing clinical expertise and documentation, while adhering to criminal court timelines is essential. The goal is to increase partner, family, and community safety. In combination with Justice and Community Mental Health teams, both locally and provincially, on-going program evaluation, development and implementation are required, while ensuring the reputability of this successful program. This position will support other duties as assigned.

Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
