Shop Helper, Reman

Toromont Reman is looking for a Shop Helper to join our team This position is responsible for supporting our branch site location with the work flow by keeping all shop areas organized and safe in order to streamline customer orders in an accurate and timely manner. The Shop Helper is intended to assist Shop Technicians and Supervisors in an effort to maximize the productivity and efficiency.

In a typical day, YOU will:

Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives Locate equipment and clean as required including moving the equipment to end locations before and after repairs are made Maintain wash bay cleanliness and manage maintenance of wash bay tools Maintain cleanliness of shop community property Support Contamination Control efforts by maintaining bulk oil, collection sites and solvent stands according to ISO standards Coordinate couriers for items going to/from the Reman facility, field service and local purchase sites Retrieve and return tooling as required to/from tool cribs Clean, typhoon/steam wash and buff parts as directed to assist technicians on repairs Assist Shop Technicians, Shop Supervisors and Lead Hands as directed in support of the business needs

Must-haves for this role:

Post Secondary Education with experience in a heavy equipment operation or repair environment Safety conscious and customer centric with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Self-starter, independent and a team player with strong initiative and attention to detail Adaptable in a fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities Willing and able to work flexible hours in support of the business needs Computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Outlook A valid Ontario Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract A valid Forklift Operator's License
