This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, and applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 years old and legally able to work in Canada. It is 35 hours a week at $17/hr for 8 weeks starting in July, with a high potential for future employment after the contract pending funding and satisfactory performance. This is a great opportunity to build a portfolio for future communications or marketing careers, and The Well may facilitate related training
Job Overview:We're looking for an Assistant Marketer to join us, focusing on content creation, event coordination, and integrating community feedback. Your responsibilities include crafting engaging content through video editing, poster design, social media management, ad campaigns, and capturing visuals through photography and videography. You'll also play a key role in advising on events and programs based on community input to ensure they resonate with our audience. Collaboration with various departments at The Well and effective communication with partners is crucial for aligning our marketing efforts with objectives. Your role involves coordinating across departments and nurturing external partnerships. The ideal candidate will showcase strong creative skills, proficiency in multimedia tools, multitasking abilities, and proactive communication. Additionally, you'll actively engage in networking activities, like distributing posters and connecting with community members, to enhance our presence and foster meaningful engagement.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage the communication strategy and content creation for The Well
  • Manage all social media accounts and online platforms
  • Script, shoot, and edit video/graphic content for social media, website, and in-house projects
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to gather information for communication purposes
  • Attend and record events
  • Produce and distribute regular newsletters and promotional materials
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns for The Well events and programs
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives and campaigns
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets, businesses, institutions, and churches.
  • Help supervise the youth center, events, and coffee shop as needed.
  • Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Applicable experience and skills:
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite  (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects) or Similar Software
  • Experience with content management systems and email marketing software (such as Mailchimp)
  • Knowledge of social media management and analytics tools (such as Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with grant writing and reporting is a plus
  • Experience with fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
  • Knowledge of video scripting, shooting, and editing
  • Skills in supervising youth/children
  • Working in a high-end coffee shop is a plus
