Ski Patroller – Avalanche Forecaster

Ourguests’ safety is your number one priority, and you deliver fast, efficientguest assistance when needed. Guests feel comfortable when their safety is inyour hands. You take pride in providing guests with the best vacation andrecreation experience possible.

You will:

· Actas first responder in emergency or health or safety situations and dispatchresources. Liaisein emergency situations, communicating with key contacts until situation isresolved. Assesscondition of injured parties; administer first aid treatment and transition toemergency personnel if required. Fillout accident reports and submit necessary documentation. Workin and assess avalanche terrain. Assistwith Emergency Lift evacuation. Monitorand report on trail and weather conditions and advise on run closures / signage. Ensureall guests and staff adhere to established safety procedure & safetyprogram manuals.

  You:

Are certified by the Canadian Avalanche Association, Industry Training Program, and Level 2. Possess a valid provincial blasting permit. Have current certification in an 80 hour First Aid program (outdoor emergency care). Have strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task under stress or time pressure. Are willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and have the physical strength and stamina to negotiate varied and difficult terrain on skis and with a toboggan. Demonstrate advanced skiing ability and comfort accessing all levels of terrain. Have previous patrol experience - an asset. Have safe rope skills - an asset. Have lift evacuation knowledge - an asset.
