Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Petrographer. The Petrographer will be responsible for studying rock samples to determine their composition, structure, and other characteristics. You will play a critical role in helping our clients understand the geological properties of their reservoirs and make informed decisions about exploration and production activities.

Duties: Conduct detailed petrographic analysis of rock samples using microscopy and other analytical techniques. Identify and characterize minerals, textures, and other features present in the samples. Interpret petrographic data integration and modeling to understand the depositional environment, diagenetic history, and reservoir quality of the rocks. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate petrographic findings into larger geological models and interpretations. Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing petrographic observations and interpretations. Stay abreast of developments in petrographic techniques, technologies, and methodologies. Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications. Ensure adherence to all AGAT health and safety policies, procedures, guidelines and requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. Proven experience in petrographic analysis. Strong knowledge of geological processes in sedimentary or hard rock petrography. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
