Proposal Manager

REDspace is a custom software development company. Our Proposal Manager will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of our company, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment while delivering innovative software solutions to elite customers. As our Proposal Manager, you'll shape our success by overseeing the development of compelling proposals and supporting our sales and marketing efforts. If you have a keen eye for detail, exceptional communication skills, and a knack for driving results, we want you on our team 

This role is a hybrid role, based out of our office in Bedford, NS.

About the Role.

  • Lead the proposal management process, working closely with the Project Manager (PM) and Business Development (BD) to support program cost and pricing development in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide essential support to the PM or BD team in client relationship management. 
  • Collaborate with leadership, PM, BD, technical, and support staff to ensure proposals reflect the best technical, management, and price positioning.
  • Ensure all compliance rules are met and achieve proposal production objectives within scheduled time frames for 100% on-time delivery.
  • Develop and lead the Bid Review process, including risk evaluation, and ensure bid/no-bid rationale is consistently applied.
  • Curate and manage a library of proposal content, including templates for re-use, with effective tagging and retrieval tools.
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of Sales and Proposal Development processes.
  • Collect and provide feedback on sales and market effectiveness to drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Assist leadership with event management, marketing campaigns, internal/external communications, and other related initiatives.

Skills/Experience.

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, or related fields. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proposal management experience, preferably in a technology environment.
  • Experience in proposal writing, technical documentation, and sales support within a similar-sized company.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with proposal management tools and processes, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Working knowledge of relevant applications (e.g., Google Suite, Apollo, etc). Experience with proposal management software (e.g., Qvidian, Proposify) is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Expertise in process and project coordination.
  • Experience in formal or informal process improvement.
  • Proficiency in sales and marketing support activities, including lead generation and targeted writing.
  • Experience in cost forecasting and control.
  • Effective risk analysis experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and a passion for providing service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality proposals on tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a dedication to continuous improvement and professional growth.
