Stuart Olson is searching for Master Riggers to join our team at our client site in the Wood Buffalo region starting Immediately . Working 6 days on, 1 day off or a 24 days on, 4 days off schedule, 12 hours/day. Camp accommodations provided for a delightful stay and flights are provided from Edmonton and Calgary.

Responsibilities

Move extra-heavy equipment, machinery and materials Use of cranes and lifts to help transport heavy equipment, machinery, or heavy cargo Supervise Rigging Selection and Use Perform spot inspections of rigging operations and plans Oversee rigging operation and provide mentorship and assistance Identify possible risks Ensure proper load control Identify critical lift situations Ensure proper use of hand rigging Perform rigging calculations, weight estimation Calculate load ground up rigging and tipping Ensure proper execution and best practices for load drifting and chain hoist operations

Qualifications

Master Rigger Certification from ITI Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar turnaround/shutdown position. Supervisory position experience and a familiarity with the maintenance and oilfield work practices. Journeyperson Ticket/ Red Seal / Blue Seal Certification Structural work experience, preferred H2S Alive, Mandatory Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS 09 and WHMIS, Mandatory Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection, Mandatory Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor, Mandatory Able to work under SBA mask preferred Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working at heights Working in a confined space Working in and around noise and dust Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions Must be clean shaven Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,

Physical Requirements

Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance Stand or walk for long periods of time Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
