Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an Accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or in its absence, experience will be considered.Experience performing macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis testing.Strong Phlebotomy skills.Proven interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills are required.Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner are essential.Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, inter-disciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced, and changing environment.Proven analytic and problem solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required.Candidate must be well organized and flexible.Must be able to represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.Recent cardiology experience including ECG -Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care and MUSE LIS experience and knowledge is preferred.Experience in the past two years:Working in a Healthcare facility. Phlebotomy, VP and micro.Medical Terminology and experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.Experience performing macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis testing and performing ECG's.Clinitek Status, MacVu 360.
