This position reports to the Sr. Geophysicist, GeoServices in the GeoServices & Land department.

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

Contribute to the GeoServices team in providing quality geophysical support to potash mining operations Operate microseismic acquisition and reporting workflow Management of geophysical sensor network Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of geoscientists, engineers, and mine technologists to gather and integrate a variety of geophysical and mine datasets in order to identify and characterize geohazards and other phenomenon that are important for continuing safe operations Ability to work with co-workers from many different personal backgrounds is essential Ability to work with consultants, researchers, and other external entities Ability to work outdoors and in the underground mine environment Some travel may be required Some longer than normal workdays may be required

What you will bring:

The minimum educational requirement for the position of GIT is a post graduate degree specialized in Geophysics (or equivalent) from an accredited university Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) (P.Geo., P. Eng, or both) Geophysics (or equivalent) from an accredited university Experience in applied geophysics to mining would be an asset Excellent technical ability Working knowledge of geophysical instrumentation Regular support and involvement with all safety programs and active promotion of safety awareness Thorough critical thinking skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Good written communication skills Good oral communication and presentation skills Ability and willingness to learn new skills Ability to adapt to sudden changes in work demands
