Emterra Group is looking to hire a dynamic Plant Manager to provide leadership to operations on the plant. Some of the meain duties involve ensuring that the processing of recyclable materials is efficient, safe, and produces quality products that meet buyers’ needs, with direction from the VP Post Collection. This includes organizing the plant’s resources, such as labour, equipment, processes, recyclable materials and other technology, on a day-to-day basis.
SpecificAccountabilities:
1)Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of plantstaff, which includes general labour and machine operators
2)Underthe direction of the VP Post Collection, ensure that plant production meetsproductivity goals and financial targets
3)Ensurecommodities produced meet the buyers’ specifications
4)Coordinatewith maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance is performed onschedule and downtime is minimized
5)Ensure all mobile and processing equipment are maintained andoperational
6)Work actively with scale manager/team to coordinate material flowing inand out of the facility
7)Directly supervise the daily floor activities of the shipping and receivingteam in coordination with the scale team .
8)Ensuredetailed coordination and communication with all plant team as well as with allinternal and external customers.
9)Approveall plant operation related expenses of the plant
10)Negotiateand arrange labor and parts services from accredited vendors as directed
11)Ensure good housekeepingand a safe, well organized facility
12)Prepareproduction and other reports as directed
13)Trainfloor and sorting personnel on floor operations, quality specifications ofrecycled materials, and safety procedures
14)Providerecommendations to improve production and product quality
15)Performother duties as assigned.
16)Abilityor willingness to be trained in operating and maintaining equipments
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required toPerform the Job:
·Ability andwillingness to work shift work (day and evening), weekends and holidays.
·3-5years extensive experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing or processingenvironment required.
·Educationrelative to operations and/or manufacturing
·Experiencein the waste management and recycling industry is strongly preferred.
·Must beproactive and willing to learn.
·Mobileequipment operation experience or certification (forklift, loader) an asset
·Musthave good communication skills in English.
