About the role:

In this role, you will work closely with product managers, project managers, developers, and operations to figure out automatic quality control solutions to ensure the highest level of quality for new development and enhancements on Morningstar Direct.

This role will be based in our Toronto location.


Job responsibilities:

Develop test plans and test cases based on business requirements of functional and non-functional specifications. Build test automation frameworks, as well as playing a part in maintaining our existing suite of automated tests to be used by the entire Agile squad. Develop and maintain functional test cases, system & integration test cases and test artifacts like test data, test cases and automated scripts used in SDLC. Review artifacts including spec, AC, test plan and test cases and clarify with BA and PO on any ambiguous information or unclear logic. Execute feature/regression/Ad hoc testing to ensure software work as expected. Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs till closed. Provide support and communication for reported issues in the Live environment. Work with Performance QA engineer on performance test cases and execution.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a related field. Experienced in Java. Expertise in testing Web services and APIs automation. Excellent understanding and knowledge of software quality assurance practice. Experience in continuous integration, and code review practice is strongly desired. Good engagement, collaboration skills and a strong team player. Passion for automating tests and delivering high quality features in a fast-paced environment.
