Reporting to the Manager of Labour & Delivery and MaternalNewborn, you will be responsible for providing quality

nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes. Aspart of a multidisciplinary health care team, you

will practice within the Professional Standards of the College ofNurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of patient and

family centered care, mission vision, values and the policies ofThunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

* Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with theCollege of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to

become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario

* Current certification in BCLS

* Recent experience in Maternity and Perinatal Nursing withexperience in breastfeeding support and the care of

complex patient populations, including postoperative surgicalpatients

* Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his

basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery

* Collaborates with Registered Nurse's when patients assigned tothe Registered Practical Nurse become unstable

or have outcomes that are not as expected

* Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action

* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions

* Strong interprofessional and communication skills

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:

* Have certification or recent continuing education in NeonatalResuscitation (NRP), lactation support, perinatal or

high risk perinatal nursing

Salary Range: $35.041 to 35.970
