Job Description: We are currently seeking an Early Childhood Educator to join our team as Float Staff in our Early Learning Center, as well as serving as one of our educators for the before and after school program. The ideal candidate will hold an Early Childhood Education certificate recognized by the Early Learning and Childcare Board in PEI. This position requires flexibility in working with children aged 0-12 years old, demonstrating a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and good organizational abilities. The candidate must be available to work a 9-hour shift, possess reliable transportation, and exhibit the ability to multitask, which is considered an asset in our dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Serve as Float Staff in our early learning center, providing support across various classrooms and age groups. Act as an educator in our before and after school program, facilitating engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for children. Implement curriculum and lesson plans effectively, ensuring the holistic development of each child. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment conducive to learning and exploration. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure continuity of care and meaningful engagement. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the learning environment. Uphold professional standards and adhere to licensing regulations and policies. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in fulfilling job responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Early Childhood Education certificate recognized by the Early Learning and Childcare Board in PEI. Must have First Aid (or willing to obtain)  Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search  Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Strong work ethic and dedication to the well-being and development of children. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace. Ability to work a 9-hour shift and accommodate occasional schedule changes. Capacity to multitask and adapt to evolving priorities.

Compensation:

Wage is determined by level of certification the applicant possesses, in accordance to the PEI ECE wage grid effective October 1st 2023. Range from $17.23-$30.81 per hour.

After the 6 month probationary period staff are eligible for medical and dental benefits  After 3 months of employment staff are eligible for the ECDA pension plan.
