Junior Engineering Analyst

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

Support/perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management. Support/prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry elements as per the relevant CSA Standards and applicable codes and regulatory requirements. Support/analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs. Support engineers in the preparing design documents and compiling engineering packages. Assist in timely and quality project delivery. Assist Sr. Engineers in day-to-day engineering activities and coordination. Play assigned role in the project(s). Support/develop conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design. Support/prepare technical specification documents. Ensure the quality and consistency, accuracy, and neatness of engineering deliverables. Apply sound engineering principles to assigned engineering activities. Compliance with applicable QA procedures and being responsible for producing quality work. Perform walk-downs and inspections, as requested. Assist the Team Lead for work plans and deliverables and ensure adequacy of scopes, budgets and schedules.

The ideal candidate:

Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University with 0-3 years industry experience. Master degree and above is an asset. Eligible to register as Professional Engineer in- Training, in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada. Knowledge of basic Civil/Structural Engineering principles. Knowledge of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI, ETABS, SAFE etc. Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant. ECC process or similar is an asset. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience working collaboratively in a dynamic team-oriented environment. Knowledge of codes and standards such as NBCC, CSA and other applicable industry codes and standards, is an asset. Knowledge of MathCAD is an asset. Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and analytical aptitude. Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Self-motivated, and be able to seek practical solutions to engineering problems. Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment. Good oral and written communication skills is a minimum requirement. Experience working in a project environment is an asset. Ability to work in an ever-changing environment with conflicting priorities. Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). Travel to client site is required.
