Tool and Die Maker Apprentice

Scope of Position:

It is important, in this dynamic environment, that everyone keep abreast of leading edge technologies and techniques relating generally to MAMT’s core competencies and specifically to the assigned job function. 

Key Responsibilities:

Attain certification as a Tool and Die Maker through formal schooling and practical assignments Suggest product improvements and identify potential build issues Ensure that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing part quality and delivery are understood and met Consider alternative solutions for given tasks or problems Attend meetings as required Be responsible for all parameters of assigned tasks Ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques Communicate project and other details to the supervisor and tool & die maker  Ensure adequate communication with other program team members Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure they are completed on time Follow all documented quality procedures Observe all company safety rules, polices and procedures Attend all required training courses Participate in MAMT’s continuous improvement activities Foster good employee relations Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate

Basic Requirements:

Grade 12 education or equivalent Basic shop machinery skills Successful completion of Lift Truck Safety Course and Crane Operation and Safety Training Must be familiar with MAMT’s Quality System procedures

Training Requirements:

Lift Truck Safety Course Crane Operation and Safety Training Software Packages as required GD&T Quality Management Systems MAMT Procedures Kaizen Foundations
