Job Description

Facilitate and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship by developing and implementing small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs. Nurture the unique giftings of people and provide leadership that trains, equips and empowers people to serve within the church community. Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, including visiting the sick, counselling those in need, offering support during times of crisis, and fostering a culture of faith, love, and service. Serve as the primary preacher and teacher of the Word of God. Develop and deliver engaging, biblically-based weekly sermons during worship services and on special occasions and events. Collaborate with team members and staff to plan and lead meaningful and spiritually enriching services. Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church’s growth and development. Serve as chair of the church board and ex-officio member of church committees and ensure committees are aligned with the church's vision and strategic directions. Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs. Oversee the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and personnel management in the church office. Mentor, supervise, and support church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment with robust leadership development. Perform other pastoral duties, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications, as required.

Required Skills

• A deep-rooted faith, vibrant prayer life, and strong commitment to their relationship with God. • A deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly as evidenced by a strong and sustained desire to see people embrace Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures and a commitment to sound doctrine, including traditional Pentecostal distinctives - particularly relating to Spirit baptism. • Exceptional communication and preaching skills with the ability to connect with all generations and believers from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. • Strong leadership skills with a passion for discipleship, spiritual growth, and empowering every member of Christ’s church to reach the community. • Ability to lead and oversee ministry staff, boards, and volunteers, training and empowering them to minister to others. • Ability to conduct community outreach and evangelism, organize events, and manage multiple priorities. • Ability to discern the mind of the Spirit for God’s people and to communicate and implement a specific vision

Education Required

• Current PAOC ordained credential holder. • Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, or related field.

Experience Required

• Ministry experience, preferably including functioning as a lead pastor. • Experience in building projects and strategic planning would be an asset. calvary-church-ministry-opportunity
