Location – Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:

Support Planning and Scheduling activities. Prepare project schedule, Load Resource/Budget Schedule, set up Baseline Schedule, Update Schedule, Issue schedule for internal and external use, Report critical schedule issues. - Lead and provide guidance and support to lower-level planners. Extract Primavera data files and send to the cost controller. Monitor and control the progress of the work against the Schedule Prepare and update Resource requirements reports guidance and support to lower-level planners. Identification and explanation of variances between current schedule, plan, earned values and forecasts, and communicate to the Project Controls Manager, Project Manager along with presenting updates to Lead/Manager/Project or P&L lead. Ensure proper progress measurement is in place for all projects and portfolios within the P&L through the whole project cycle and advise on the areas of concern that could prevent meeting the P&L objectives. Interface with other Project Control Team to maintain integrated cost-schedule project control system.

The ideal candidate:

Must have University degree (B. Eng, BCom, etc). 10+ years of relevant cost control experience, experience in engineering and construction projects environment. Proficient in MS office suite of software, especially in Microsoft Excel, preferably thorough knowledge of Primavera P6 and ability to learn new software as per the company standards. Expert Knowledge of project management techniques and number of years of hands-on experience (i.e., critical path method, progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in Project planning, analysing and reporting. Strong knowledge of the general project controls policies and procedures. Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines. Strong organizational skills are required with attention to details. Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills. Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach and strong analytical skills. Ability to work well with Clients and Alliance partners, with staff, build and maintain good working relationships with Project Controls team. Ability to mentor junior and intermediate staff and work with project cost controller.
