We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to join our clients growing team in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our supply chain, including procurement of goods and services, and coordinating with other stakeholders to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.


Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of corporate policies and purchasing processes to mitigate potential risks associated with supply chain management

• Plan, schedule, organize, control, and monitor supply chain activities related to procurement of complex, specialized goods or services

• Implement acquisition practices that align with the company's objectives

• Manage contractual supply chain functions for assigned vendors

• Perform risk assessments on the supply chain and undertake due diligence tasks

• Collaborate with the Legal department to draft and implement contract templates including purchase agreements, amendments, renewals, Statements of Work, framework agreements, licensing agreements, consulting service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, general terms, correspondence, and terminations

• Monitor established supplier contracts through to completion, including tasks such as organizing and attending periodic stakeholder meetings, reporting, manage scope change and variations to contracts, invoice approval

• Use sound judgment to address unusual situations or issues, and develop creative solutions to resolve complex problems

• Identify any risks, communicate them to internal stakeholders and recommend mitigation strategies

• Demonstrate effective financial stewardship through budget monitoring and ongoing cost reduction goal setting

• Seek out continuous improvements to procurement related systems and processes

• Establish, foster, and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders from all operating units within the company

• Provide guidance and mentor colleagues and peers on supply chain principles, contract terms and conditions, and requirements.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a global organization.

• Proven expertise in Purchasing Management, including developing and implementing purchasing policies.

• Demonstrated experience with various aspects of Procurement such as Procurement Actions, Activities, Requests, and Strategy.

• Proficiency in Corporate and Global Procurement practices.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management, including Supply chain risk management and Global Supply Chain.

• Experience with drafting and managing Supply Agreements.

• Familiarity with handling Proposals and RFP Requirements.

• SCPro certification or similar professional qualification in supply chain management is preferred but not mandatory.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and navigate complex procurement activities and strategies.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Proficient in using supply chain software and tools.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.


This role is 4 days on site in downtown Ottawa. There is an excellent benefits package including pension plan and also a bonus potential of 5%. This is an opportunity to join a large corporation and growing team. The candidate must be able to obtain an enhanced security clearance which would require at least five years permanent residency in Canada.
