Our client, requires an experienced Boiler Service Technician, looking for an opportunity to work with a well-established, well-respected, and growing company to join their team in Jacksonville, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to become an important member of a growing company which offers a company truck, cellphone, training, benefits, and competitive wages.Purpose: A fully qualified Service Technician will be responsible for performing start-up services, troubleshooting and repair activities on natural gas and light oil-fired industrial boilers both (i) in the field at customer sites, located in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a positive relationship with customers as you professionally maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial and industrial equipment in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all on-site installation (starts up and upgrades), preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, and testing tasks.
- Use test equipment, meters, and your own mechanical abilities to fire boilers and related equipment to ensure proper operation prior to and during installation.
- Diagnose errors and technical problems to determine proper solutions and make appropriate recommendations to customers.
- Complete documentation such as field service reports, start-up reports, warranty forms, technical recommendation forms, etc.
- Ensure truck inventory is aligned with the recommended parts list.
- Promote upgrades in addition to parts sales and new and rental boiler sales.
- Perform basic electrical and mechanical repairs on boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Develop and maintain good customer relationships and represent and promote the company in a professional manner.
- Monday to Friday schedule, working mainly between 7:30am-4:00pm, with some evenings/weekends and overtime work as required.
- Emergency standby call on a rotating basis
Skills, Abilities and Experience:
(Must meet Company requirements with respect to general qualifications.)
- Electro-Mechanical Troubleshooting Experience Required
- Travel to customer sites across US Southeast (with occasional but limited overnights)
- 5+ years of experience working as a service technician in a related industry.
- Experience working on commercial/industrial boiler systems.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, and understanding of gas and oil combustion
- Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, and technical bulletins.
- Basic computer skills to complete service reports and logs
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
