We are actively seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent to join our team in the Saskatchewan Thermal Division. Reporting to the Saskatchewan Thermal Operations Manager, the Operations Superintendent will be responsible for supporting the Saskatchewan Thermal (SK Thermal) Operations Team and support groups. The SK Thermal area consists of 5 SAGD facilities. The assets are all located within 1.5 hours of Lloydminster.

The Successful Candidate:

The Area Superintendent is accountable to the Operations Manager of SK Thermal and will be responsible to ensure the facilities runs safely, and efficiently. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team to strategize the operations of the facility and provide leadership to operations leadership.

Qualifications Include:

Accountable for the completion and submission of accruals to the finance team.

Participate in monthly/yearly budgeting requirements, (financial and development).

Responsible to review yearly operational budgets and identify yearly capital spending opportunities.

Analysis and comparison of Actuals vs. Budget and report variances to financial team.

Interface with area stakeholders i.e. RM, and landowners.

Support the SAGD facilities site leadership to ensure operating plants are meeting industry, regulatory and safety targets for each facility.

Support a continuous improvement environment through all aspects of operations i.e. HSE, Human Resources, Equipment Integrity, and Supply Chain Management.

Set an example in safety leadership with Strathcona’s employees and contractors.

Ensure effective communication between operations internal teams and support groups.

Interface with development teams, production engineering and projects teams regarding future planning and growth amongst the SAGD assets.

Ensure alignment amongst the operating SAGD sites regarding project planning, Commissioning and RFO processes.

Education and Experience:

Minimum 8 years supervisory experience for a producing oil and gas company

Strong knowledge in standard HSE practices

Strong knowledge regarding SAGD operations along with knowledge in the following groups as it relates to plant operations: projects, development, production engineering and accounting processes.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Minimum 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate, 3rd Class Power Engineers will be considered with substantial leadership experience.

Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Self-motivated, open-minded and results orientated.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment:

Based in the Lloydminster office with weekly travel to field assets.
