About this opportunity:
The Operations Specialist reports to the Director of Field Operations and is a key member of the Conventional field leadership team. This position is accountable to ensure consistent application of COIMS, oversee Conventional’s competency assurance program, proactively identify improvement opportunities, support the implementation of new initiatives, and drive continuous improvement while promoting a culture of integrated operations built on corporate values. This dynamic position requires significant field time to demonstrate a strong, visible presence across Conventional to ensure operations has access to adequate tools, support and mentorship to drive consistent understanding and adherence to company policies, procedures and programs. As the Conventional operations subject matter expert, the Operations Specialist is expected to be a single point of contact for any corporate initiatives to actively participate and influence program improvements and work with other operating areas across Cenovus to share best practices. This role will cover the Director, Field Operations DOA when required. The successful can be located anywhere within Conventional.
The successful can be located in Rainbow Lake, Drayton Valley, Edson or Grande Prairie
What you’ll do:
• Chair of the Conventional coaching committee.
• Steward for the Conventional competency assurance program
• Conventional Field Operations lead for COIMS initiatives, including the steward for elements 2, 5 & 9.
• Acts as the key representative for Field Operations on corporate initiatives
• Perform assurance activities on both Health & Safety and Operations related activities. • Participate and support internal/external compliance audits.
• Monitorand identifyany potential gaps to HS&E and operations policies, procedureor regulatory requirements.
• Steward of Conventional control documents & records program
• Supports alignment within the four Core Districts through regular interactions with front line field staff & leaders.
• Key field leader for the roll out of various Field Operations initiatives.
• Mentor future leaders.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
•10+ years of relevant industry experience
•5+ years of conventional oil and gas field experience
•Strong coaching, mentoring and leadership skills
•Strong understanding of H&S and regulatory requirements
•3+ years of leadership experience will be considered an asset
•Class 5 Drivers license
