What you’ll do:

The Food Store Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the newly constructed 30,000 square foot Moosomin Food Store including inventory control, budgeting, staffing, asset protection, and health and safety. The Manager will provide leadership, direction, and support to ensure the business delivers trusted products and services to the local community.

You will lead a team in a positive and engaging manner. Oversee employee performance, providing mentorship, coaching, and identifying areas of concern as required. Determine staffing requirements for the location. Ensure compliance with all HR, Operational, Food Safety and Occupational Health and Safety policies.

You will maintain positive relationships with vendors and ensure an excellent level of service for members and customers. Identify consumer trends to determine expected sales volumes for new products and support competitive pricing. Create and execute a merchandising strategy to ensure high-priority merchandise is well placed. Support and lead customer loyalty and reward programs. Respond to customer concerns and complaints in a timely manner to ensure resolution. 

You will provide leadership to all the Food Department Managers to grow sales in all associated commodities. The successful candidate will guide team leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities within their departments and lead the delivery of support and operational training in all areas.

Who you are:

You have 6 – 9 years of relevant experience including a minimum of 3 years experience leading leaders in a retail food environment. Previous management within the Co-op Retailing System will be considered an asset. You’re experienced in leading a team with a focus on customer service. You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do. You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
