Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking Class AZ or Class DZ drivers to work as Chemical Cleaning Operators based out of our Sarnia, Ontario location.

You’ll learn how to deal with chemicals in dynamic environments Training provided : We will set you up for a successful career through on the job training with new equipment and safe handling procedures for chemical Be a part of a true  team . Our work is difficult but we get it done safely, with great people, all while having a laugh New equipment to run:  low pressure unit fleet is all brand new Opportunity for out of town work: 15% of the time you get to  visit our other regions  across Canada  Stay in hotels and camps when working out of town; up to 24 days straight with opportunity for overtime working days and nights. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain chemical cleaning equipment and other specialty tools Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment Ensure safety for all team members and property Provide quality services to our clients Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment Leave the job site in better condition that when we got there. Clean, safe and job done Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs Read work orders and designate proper hoses, chemicals and other equipment as required. If unsure, seek advice of supervisor Ensure equipment is properly decontaminated at end of job Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Valid Class AZ or Class DZ license with no more than 5 demerits in last 3 years is required 1+ years’ experience in an industrial environment required Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Experience in the following Industrial Chemical Cleaning Projects is an asset:Exchanger Cleaning – 3 Stage Washes, Acid Washes, Cleaning –Various Chemical Washes with Passivation and Phase – Various scopesTank Cleaning – Circulation, separation, and Blows – Decompression, Pulse, and Continuous Air Blows. N2 Purging.Familiarity with large bore pumping systems (skid pumps and chemical trucks). Experience working with the following industrial chemistries is an asset:Hydrochloric, Sulphamic, Formic and Nitric AcidCaustic, Ammonium Biflouride, Soda AshVarious degreasers and degassing chemistries

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment Perform physically demanding work (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis) Enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions You have the ability to work well in a team, share a laugh with your coworkers and get the job done safely
