The Registered Nurse provides a leadership role within the patient care team and provides care in situations in which the patient's condition is complex and the patient care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, the Registered Nurse promotes health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the patient.

Required:

  • Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
  • 3-5 years current medical/surgical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to ensure positive patient outcomes
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing positive client/provider relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within an interdisciplinary team framework
  • Demonstrated teaching and patient advocacy skills
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

Assets:

  • Bilingual - English and French
  • BScN and CNeph preferred
  • 3-5 years' current hemodialysis experience in an acute care setting and or satellite unit

Hours of Work: Permanent Casual. Mainly call in and vacation relief. Required to provide availability for a minimum of six (6) shifts per month. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.

Salary: $39.07 - $56.00 an hour
