About the Medical Imaging Department

As part of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging with University Health Network, Women’s College Hospital, and Mount Sinai Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department provides a state-of-the-art environment for leading edge clinical practice, teaching, and research programs. An international leader in medical imaging, we conduct a large volume of various exams for diverse patient populations from the Emergency Department to outpatients and inpatients. The department features state-of-the-art technology and a team of innovative professionals dedicated to patient care.

In this role you will:

Receive, process and schedule Medical Imaging procedures Screen patients for necessary PPID and Falls Prevention Ensure the provision of optimum customer service through efficient delivery Answer telephones, retrieve voicemails and return calls in a timely manner Respond to inquiries made by patients, visitors and hospital staff Verify and update patient demographic data Create and register patients in the Hospital Information System (HIS) Ensure payment information is correctly gathered and entered i.e. MOH, Insurances, WSIB and Self Pay Communicate patient preparation to patients Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

Successful completion of a high school diploma Keyboard speed of words per minute


Preferred

1 - 2 years recent receptionist experience in a healthcare environment and data entry experience with Cerner/ADT system Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of Abel ERP Software


Skills and Knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Proven organizational and time management skills Excellent communication skills demonstrated with telephone, interpersonal and written interactions Ability to use good judgement and sensitivity in assessing difficult intimate patient treatment situations Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure in a variety of office/clinic areas Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
