Job purpose

The Warehouse Supervisor main responsibilities include to assume leadership of his team, coordinate and plan the daily operations as well as required human and material resources for the storage activities. He/She is the primary responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety policies as well high standards level of operations and service.

Responsibilities

Maintain a strong client satisfaction by providing high standards in the daily operational quality service regarding storage activities; Collaborate with the Storage Coordinator to ensure delivery timelines and service standards are met; Supervise the staff and the execution of the daily activities (handling and delivering tires); Constantly adjust priorities according to the current work order, last minute requests or unexpected situations; Establish operational objectives to achieve on a daily, weekly and monthly basis; Maintain high standards with regards to health and safety; Act as an ambassador for high standards, the application of policies, and the promotion of corporate values to employees; Elaborate strategies to control the operational costs and the labor force expenses; Proactively improve the operating storage processes in order to seek higher levels of efficiency; Maintain cordial relations with clients and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. All other related tasks.

Success factors

Relevant work experience: your 3- 5 years of experience in a distribution center managing storage activities, including supervision responsibilities, will allow you to successfully lead your team and manage daily operations with lots of confidence. Your experience with Cherry pickers and reach trucks are truly great assets; Technical abilities: your comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Outlook and Excel, will allow you to build great templates to better track and get a general picture of your operations; Area-Savvy: On top of having a valid driver’s license, the fact that you’re good with directions in the GTA will just make you save time and be more strategic when it’s time to plan any itineraries; Customer Service Oriented: You care about the quality of service you provide to your customers, colleagues and business partners. At all times, you put the customer at the center of your concerns and make sure you provide them with a service that meets their expectations; Organization: You have excellent time management and logistics planning skills that allow you to always meet deadlines and optimize operational activities; Leadership: You are a natural ambassador of good business practices and know how to make difficult but necessary decisions. You are naturally motivated and know how to rally your troops towards established goals. You are not afraid to get involved and you are always ready to help your team even with the most physically demanding tasks.
