Your Opportunity:

Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) Adult Community Services (ACS) 108 St Clinic is seeking a permanent full-time Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) to join our concurrent capable, interdisciplinary team. Reporting to the Care Manager the nurse will provide both individual and or group treatment to assigned clients. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide individual supportive counselling and case management to clients with a wide variety of clinical presentations. The Nurse engages client and provides assessment, consultation, treatment, and collaborative care for clients with mental illness, substance use and/or behavioral disorders or conditions. The nurse will work with clients in clinic, community, and home settings, addressing both physical and mental health needs. The nurse will provide positive treatment interventions in a variety of locations to promote, maintain, and enhance positive health outcomes and improved quality of life with consideration for step-up and step-down in care, specific to the Level of Care Utilization System (LOCUS) framework through a recovery-oriented approach. The program adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care including a focus on client centered care, collaboration between the care team and client, care that is trauma informed, concurrent addiction and mental health capable and recovery oriented. The nurse contributes to program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives and documents all service using an electronic medical record (Connect Care).

Description:

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing or equivalent relevant experience. 2+ years of experience in high-acuity addiction and/or mental health settings, community preferred, specifically those with chronic, persistent, and pervasive mental health concerns. Experience with evidence-based modalities. Working knowledge of LOCUS, experience using electronic medical records, and strong skills in word processing. Work well in a team environment.
