The Opportunity

The Electrical Works Supervisor is the Contractor's first point of contact for all aspects of work coordination and execution with the Customer's Representative. The Electrical Works Supervisor ensures that contractors perform their tasks safely, in accordance with plans and specifications, and within the established schedule. He reports directly to the Industrial Construction Director.


What YOU Will Do

Evaluate contractors' progress on site.
Coordinate with engineers on technical aspects and implementation of change orders.
Review construction drawings prior to implementation and validate scope of work with Contractor's construction contract.
Highlight execution difficulties whenever possible and validate with the Contractor that work methods take into account the particularities of the job site.
Coordinate site visits with contractors and others, as required for lots under tender.
Ensure that the Contractor holds all site-specific work permits and licenses required prior to work execution.
Coordinate with the health and safety department when required to review work methods and ensure that they are safe.
Gather all information for the preparation of daily reports, including information from contractors, and ensure that the information provided is accurate.
Prepare all weekly reports and distribute to designated project members.
Participate as required in start-up meetings, weekly progress meetings and daily meetings.
Represent Pomerleau on site for coordination with Owner's operations, Customer's personnel and contractors. Review construction contract documentation for scope and detailed execution plan. 
Ensure understanding of all contractual terms and conditions for site supervision and Contractor adherence.
Prepare scope of work for additional work to be performed, coordinate site visits, perform proposal reviews and make recommendations for processing.
Review and validate work orders prior to processing by Contract Administration.
Coordinate material procurement with Purchasing and Operations (this also applies to the scheduling of equipment deliveries so that the Contractor's schedule reflects deliveries).
Participate, with the Quality group, in various inspections and reporting.

What YOU Will Bring

University Degree in Electrical engineering and/or CEGEP DEC in Electrical technology or equivalent trade certification
Computer literacy-MS office software and other workshare platforms and software.
Construction Site Safety course & WHMIS (SIMDUT) certification
At least 10 years' work experience in the field.
Ability to stand and sit periodically throughout the day.
Ability to lift loads up to 25 lbs.
Ability to kneel, bend, climb stairs and ladders. Ability to withstand extreme outdoor weather conditions.
May be required to travel extensively between main residence and construction site.
Ability to descend into excavated areas.
Ability to inspect work at above ground elevations by means of a construction stairway, man basket hoisted by a mechanical lifting device.
