Based in Penticton. Travel within the South Okanagan Similkameen region may be necessary.

Nature of Position
The CCRR Assistant is responsible for the effective delivery of Child Care Resource & Referral services, including
the Toy Library and Affordable Child Care Benefit Support. The CCRR Assistant will work 25hrs/week including
Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and one evening per week.

Qualifications
• Early Childhood Education Assistant, or minimum of one year experience OR a combination of related
training and experience
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
Key Responsibilities
• Supports parents/caregivers in finding childcare and applying for grants and child care subsidy.
• Responds to information requests from parents, care providers, and the general public.
• Engages children and their parents/caregivers during play-based learning programs.
• Supports networking and peers supports for families with young children and child care providers.
• Supports families/caregivers with navigating community resources and referrals to
professionals/programs.
• Assists the CCRR team’s outreach and resources to childcare providers.
• Maintains a toy/equipment lending library, ensuring safety by doing, at the minimum, annual safety
checks.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Ability to work effectively with families, professionals, community members and potential service
providers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child growth development.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate programs and workshops.
• Knowledge of standards and requirements of Community Care Facilities Licensing Child Care Act and
Regulations as well as Child Care Subsidy process.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Strong organizational skills.
Requirements
• Successful completion of a criminal record check
• Valid BC Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, clean driving record, and the ability to obtain business use
insurance.
• Early Intervention and Prevention Training.
