1 ‑ Temporary Full Time ‑ PreGrad Intern RN/RPN

MCKC (Pre-Dialysis) Clinic

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit canaccommodate your temporary absence in the event

you are successful.

This position will involve working the day, night shifts. Theshift is not to be interpreted as a guarantee.

Work in collaboration with other members of the health care‑team,under the supervision of the RN/RPN, observe

and assist with direct and indirect patient care as instructed bythe RN/RPN. Set up and maintain oxygen therapy

under the direct or indirect supervision of the RN/RPN. Measureand record patient intake and output, weights and

vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, andpain status) under the direct or indirect supervision of

the RN/RPN. Assist patients with moving and ambulation, usingcorrect body mechanics, and obtaining the help of a

second person when indicated. Collect samples under the direct orindirect supervision of the RN/RPN. Establish a

therapeutic relationship with patients and families, taking intoaccount information obtained during inter‑shift report,

consultation with other health care team members, and informationobtained from the patient record. Maintain patient

confidentiality, dignity and privacy at all times. Contribute tothe patient's plan of care in conjunction with other health

care team members. Perform basic Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (asa first or second rescuer) as needed.

Respond to hospital codes in an appropriate manner. Carry out allresponsibilities using appropriate Body Substance

Precautions and WHIMIS precautions. Contribute to creating andmaintaining a clean, safe and caring patient care

environment.

Qualifications:

* Must currently be enrolled and have completed the 3rd Year of aNursing Education Degree Program or the 1st

Year of the Register Practical Nursing Program and returning tofull time RN/RPN studies in the fall

* Must meet all qualifications required by the RN/RPN externalagency providing funding for this position

* Must have excellent problem solving, communication, andinterpersonal skills

Salary Range: $18.590
