SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director – Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst is a critical role in producing insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management, shareholders, Board of Directors, and lenders, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.

The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. They will also contribute to document accounting policies, implement and communicate them across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and prepare executive-level financial performance reports, presentations and dashboards. Conduct variance analysis, valuate cost structure, identify trends, risks and cost-saving opportunities. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financial statements. Assist with year-end audits and provide documentation and support as needed. Contribute to document accounting policies for the organization. Assist with corporation taxes and insurance related matters. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls, implementing best practices as needed.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

CPA designation.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years experience. Experience in an accounting firm. Bilingual (English and French) as this role must communicate with out of province stakeholders. Strong background in accounting principles (GAAP for private enterprise), consolidation and financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends effectively. Outstanding organisational skills including the ability to manage and prioritise concurrent tasks, meet deadlines and to work in an independent, flexible manner where required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders (both internal and external) both in the provision of information, support and advice. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving organization. Self-motivated and pro-active achiever able to meet deadlines. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft D365 Business experience (preferable).
