There is a temporary full-time (1.0) opening for an Educational Assistant at Milverton Public School from September 2, 2024 until May 30, 2025: 

Depending upon school/program needs, duties will vary from site to site and may include: Physical and behaviourial supports in self-contained, integrated or resource-withdrawal settings. Flexibility is required as assignments may vary from working with students who may require varying degrees of physical, behavioural and/or academic support. The assignment may change from one setting to another as the school needs change; and, other duties as required. The ideal candidates will possess: The ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, including but not limited to, lifting, toileting and transferring students and supporting associated mobility equipment; Proven successful experience in providing consistent daily support for students with behavioural, physical and developmental supports; Expertise implementing effective behaviour management strategies and the ability to be flexible to support students with multiple needs; Demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively as part of the school team; The ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment;  Good oral and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and professional skills; Understanding and commitment to confidentiality; Minimum one year college level certificate or diploma in the educational assistant or related field, and equivalent experience; and,  Current BMS certification.


Rate of Pay: Level 4 of ESSP Collective Agreement
Hours of Work:  35 Hours per week, 10 months per year
Pension Plan:  Defined pension plan through the 
Health & Dental Benefits: Extended and Supplementary Health, Paramedical Services, Dental, including Orthodontics, Out of Province/Country and Health Care Spending Account
Start Date: September 2, 2024
End Date: May 30, 2025
