Required Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent (GED or 4 year medical experience may be equivalent) or equivalent with a minimum of two years experience in a related field involving customer service. Possesses knowledge of basic office equipment. Must have understanding of medical billing and processes. Must have good public relations skills.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must possess good accounting skills.
Essential Functions
Work as front end counseling with walk-in patients. Help other Financial Counselors with patients that need further review of patient responsibility or account status.
Assist with any questions from other staff regarding benefit verification and all follow up on surgical reservations. Make sure all patients are contacted prior to procedure regarding any financial responsibility.
Make sure all schedules are run and reviewed on a daily basis.
Assist with any inquiries for off site areas, cover these areas when needed.
Train new staff in all the responsibilities of the different areas of specialties under the Business Office.
