We are looking for a Nursery Superintendent to join our Eagle Rock Nursery. Located mid-way between Vernon and Armstrong, Eagle Rock produces forest conifer seedlings as part of our commitment to sustainable reforestation in British Columbia. We are proud to grow and harvest seedlings necessary to sustain a renewable forest resource, maintain healthy ecosystems and provide future generations with the opportunity to enjoy British Columbia’s magnificent forests. 

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in growing operations. Post-secondary education in Horticulture, Agriculture or Greenhouse Management is preferred. Experience in managing projects and leading a team to success. Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety systems and programs. Knowledge and understanding of environmental protection protocol. Valid British Columbia Pesticide Applicator Certificate. Unwavering commitment to safety . Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Self-directed time-management skills.  Valid Driver’s License.

In this role you will:

Proactively manage the facility to ensure cost-competitive, top-quality seedling production . Promote and maintain the nursery Safety Program. Prepare budgets and manage costs within your specific area of responsibility. Hire, train and manage our nursery growers to ensure a cohesive and high-performing team. Manage suppliers and contractors. Monitor, develop, and review business requirements for seedling production to ensure delivery of results.
