About the Position

To operate Flusher Truck flush sewers and storms, clean catch basins, repair valve boxes and curb boxes.

Duties & Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties listed are not meant to provide a description of each and every job performed but only those which represent the core functions of the job.

Plan work, complete basic forms, and work orders for documentation.
Prepare Traffic Control plans and perform traffic control procedures on job sites.
Conduct sewer flushing with hydraulic equipment to sanitary and storm sewer systems.
Conduct grease cutting of sewer mains in various areas of the city.
Conduct catches basin cleaning using hydraulic flusher.
Root cut various storm and sanitary mains with hydraulic equipment.
Repair curb and valve boxes
Conduct hydraulic cleaning of roadside culverts.
Conduct emergency vacuuming and flushing of infrastructure as required.
Utilizing equipment provides test holes as required.
Flushing and cleaning of roads to remove mud and debris from water breaks.
Work within confined spaces and under unpleasant conditions for extended periods.
All other duties as assigned.

What you need to Succeed....

Qualifications:

Possess a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
Must possess a valid Class “D” driver’s license with “Z” Air Brake endorsement.

WWC 1
1 year experience operating heavy equipment.
1 year experience working in water/wastewater.
Knowledge of water and sewer distribution systems.
Mechanical aptitude to operate associated mechanical functions and appurtenances in a safe and efficient manner.
Good verbal and written communication skills

Salary and Benefit Information

$31.02/hr plus a comprehensive benefits package, and OMERS pension
