Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical and Materials teams, based in our Abbotsford office. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local geotechnical projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with EXP team members across Western Canada on some very large and challenging projects
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Working closely with all levels of engineers, field teams and materials staff to conduct construction observations and field investigations for projects mainly in and around, but not limited to the Abbotsford area. For each project, the successful candidate could be involved in:
Support the development of the Earth & Environmental group by developing relationships with existing and future client contacts, attending meetings, and supporting Business Development initiatives. Managing small to medium sized projects, including cost monitoring, schedule control, communications with clients, and contract documentation; Conduct geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting Coordinating and participating in field investigations and QA/QC inspections; Coordinate subcontractors to execute assigned projects Coordinating on designs with other engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects; Analyzes geotechnical data to prepare results for reports Prepares geotechnical reports Carry out engineering analysis (Previous use of GInt, SlopeW, MSEW are Assets) Occasionally Performing Materials field work Create proposals and budgets for geotechnical and materials projects Attend staff and project meetings when requested Interaction with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their needs Subgrade field reviews Problem solving of project site issuesWhat your experience looks like
Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering Project management experience with desire to take on management position in the future Registration as professional engineer with EGBC 3 to 5 years of relevant experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD Proficient problem-solving skills Must possess valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to job sitesThe salary range for this role is between $120,000 to $150,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
