Position Description 

The Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology invites applications for a two-year, renewable faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor rank in the contractually limited appointment category.

McMaster is a highly ranked research-intensive university. Its Faculty of Health Sciences has a reputation for innovative programs, interdisciplinary cutting-edge research, leading faculty, and aspiring students.

We are seeking an early career investigator with expertise in obesity with a particular focus on the interface of integrative metabolism and bioinformatics. The candidate will have expertise in techniques related to molecular metabolism, ranging from cellular assays to whole body physiology in preclinical models and humans. Complementing these skill sets the candidate will be adept at integrating metabolic and clinical phenotypes from large data sets with genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data. Experience with programming and artificial intelligence will also be an asset. The successful candidate will bring an invigorating individual perspective that will drive exciting and innovative research and training.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in an area of metabolism and at least 5 years' research experience in the above area of research. The successful candidate should also have experience working with diverse research teams. An excellent record of collegiality and collaboration are prerequisites for this position. Experience in student supervision is an asset.
