The Opportunity:

ThePharmacy Technician works closely with the supervising Pharmacist for thetimely and accurate supply of appropriate medications and to promote safe,effective, and economical use of drugs.

Qualifications:

Pharmacy ExaminingBoard of Canada (PEBC) + Jurisprudence Exams – Licensure with Ontario Collegeof Pharmacists Must strive tocontinuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff,physicians, and volunteers Must adhere to theduties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Must have an ability toeffectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in orderto provide excellent communication with team members, patients and families.Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset. Must have basiccomputer skills Must be dedicated toprofessional growth & development Must be able to performall bona fide and essential duties of the position, which may include physicaldemands such as moving/transferring patients, pushing, pulling, bending, etc. Must have demonstratedexcellent attendance/performance record Excellent organizationand prioritization skills Ability to workindependently and effectively communicate with other members of the health careteam Meditech proficiency andinventory experience preferred Experience using PyxisMedstations preferred

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

Manufactures, packages,and labels drugs and compounds according to established formulas andprocedures. Re-filling of Pyxis med stations, Packaging unit dosemedications Compounding non-sterilepreparations for inpatients Performing BestPossible Medication Histories (BPMH’s) for admitted and non-admitted patients. Checks and replenishesward stock Performs other dutiesas may be prescribed
