Position Summary

We are in search of a driven and committed individual to fill the role of Journeyperson Electrician within our team. This position is well-suited for someone with a keen desire to excel and a solid work ethic. As a Journeyperson Electrician, you will collaborate closely with our experienced team to handle the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment. Working under the guidance of leadership, you will receive and execute work assignments from management and internal stakeholders. These assignments will encompass supporting both field and shop operations, as well as completing projects for our valued customers.

Responsibilities:

Work safely and within capabilities in field service and/or shop environments. Perform hands-on electrical tasks, including installation, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, redesigning, rebuilding, retrofitting, and repairing electrical systems. Perform hands-on mechanical tasks, such as welding, painting, fitting, cutting, bolting, detailed print reading, measuring, and drawing markups. Safely operate mobile equipment, including vehicles, trailers, bucket trucks, aerial work platforms, forklifts, and other rental equipment. Conduct incoming visual inspections for electrical and mechanical defects. Maintain strong client relationships through the quality and quantity of work performed. Continuously strive to improve skills and company operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes. Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and other stakeholders for problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information. Collaborate with team members to effectively complete work assignments and meet customer needs. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, performing routine shop organization and cleanup as needed. Adhere to company, local, and regulatory safety rules, best practices, and policies and procedures. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel throughout BC for work, as business needs dictate. Complete test reports to company and customer standards and timelines. Perform any other duties assigned by the management.



Required Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years experience and a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician ticket. Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, IEEE, UL, CSA, WCB, Provincial, CCOHS safety standards. Proven electrical / mechanical skills and/or experience with different types of low and high voltage equipment. Experience with industrial, commercial and/or utility electrical systems, installation of power distribution equipment and large switchgear is preferred. Able to effectively problem solve. Good computer skills for specialized software, data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports. Strong oral and written communication skills; follow oral and written directions, reading work orders and/or specs as assigned; work in a team environment and communicate with team, various departments, and/or Customers as business needs dictate. Customer focused-able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and produce a quality work product. Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
