About the RoleReporting to the Manager, Brand Strategy & Communications, you are a motivated individual looking to join a high-performing and metrics-driven Marketing & Communications team. You are creative, dedicated, and can take an assigned project and execute it.
As our Events & Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting various functions of the Marketing & Communications team including, but not limited to, managing event planning and logistics associated with both virtual and in-person events, and other duties that support key brand and communications strategies.
Event Management (60%)
- Work with cross-functional teams to manage the logistics and execution of conferences, workshops, focus groups, and events
- Liaise with all stakeholders including external event staff and booth vendors
- Budget tracking
- Travel within Ontario to support the team with event setup and client engagement
- Manage promotional material inventory
Brand Strategy Support (20%)
- Execute a social media plan that aligns with Nelson’s broader marketing and communications strategy, including monitoring and contributing to corporate social media channels
- Support in maintaining and updating brand-centric websites for Nelson
- Support in design and copywriting that maintains a consistent brand voice and visual identity
- Administrative duties as required
Communications (20%)
- Execute on internal communications strategies in collaboration with People & Engagement and other internal teams
- Provide support in media relations and external communications as required
Requirements
- Must-have:
- Event Management and/or Marketing experience is required
- Ability to design and source event collateral and promotional items e.g. Product information sheets, giveaways such as pens, notebooks & water bottles etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven experience in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure to meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Nice-to-have:
- University or college degree, ideally in a marketing program
- Knowledge and understanding of Canva and Adobe Photoshop are assets.
- Experience in supporting organizational social media channels is an asset.
