Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications. Supervise, delegate and coordinate work with co-workers and electricians working on Fire Alarm systems. Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ’s and other interested parties. Complete As Built drawings on the completion of the job. Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines. Identify deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification. Troubleshoot hardware issues, ground faults, open and short circuits. Travel throughout the District business area when required. Conduct programming modifications to an existing system without supervision. Program audio and non-audio standalone systems (upon training). Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers. Mentor less experienced technicians. QualificationsWhat we look forRequired Minimum 3 years of experience within the Fire Protection industry. Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection or Electrical/Electronic or equivalent experience. Completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or equivalent.
