Transit Driver

Location: Dawson Creek, BC

PWTransit is currently seeking a casual Transit Driver to join our team in Dawson Creek. We offer competitive wages, ongoing training and development, and a family-oriented team environment. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.

Position Requirements:

A valid Class 1 or 2 driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement Driver’s abstract with no more than 3 demerit points Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening Clear criminal record Must be organized, punctual and reliable Possess excellent driving skills and habits Ability to read maps and navigate Ability to communicate effectively A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary

Wage Range:

$31.17 - $35.49 per hour

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries

Additional Information:

A good knowledge of the local area is an asset This position may require working shifts, including split shifts, as well as weekends and statutory holidays Selected applicants will be required to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process which consists of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as required for licensing), drug and alcohol screening, criminal record and reference checks
